Chameleon VPN review

In the VPN world, there are some great VPNs that have not yet earned their proper recognition. A VPN could literally have all the best features in the world at a very cheap price, but some people could browse right past it in favor of the more famous VPNs.
I highly doubt that many users have had an experience with Chameleon VPN because many have not bothered to give it a chance. This makes me curious and makes me want to uncover what most people could be missing out when it comes to this VPN. Let us take a look at Chameleon VPN. It might be the VPN we have been looking for our whole lives.
Chameleon is included in VyprVPN Premium accounts at no extra cost. Currently Chameleon is only compatible with the VyprVPN apps for Windows, Mac, Android and router. Unfortunately, due to VPN restrictions by iOS, Chameleon is not currently available for VyprVPN for iOS.

Is My Privacy Protected with Chameleon VPN?

Chameleon VPN has made it clear to all its users that it does not maintain any of their logs, which is great for anonymity. Some have termed it as the most anonymous VPN service because of how efficient it is when it comes to changing and hiding IP addresses.
Chameleon VPN allows you to change your IP address in any Operating System, including Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. In addition, you can use Chameleon VPN on your mobile devices such as iPad, Android devices or iPhones, which is convenient for most of its users. Chameleon VPN also stands because it does not require its users to provide any personal data during registration.
Chameleon VPN’s Privacy Policy on its website is pretty vague, which for some raises eyebrows.

“We believe in freedom of speech.
Our product – a program Chameleon.
It helps in one mouse click to change your IP address.”

“We do not require any personal data during registration. And do not collect any information about our users on the site.
Add funds to the system, you transfer the money to support the development of the program as crowdfunding.
Among the methods of payment have anonymous payment services.”

“We guarantee the safety and anonymity of our program.”

“From an IP address of VPN is prohibited: sending mass mailing, engage in illegal actions.”

How Much is Chameleon VPN? Is There a Free Trial?

Compared to other VPNs, Chameleon VPN is quite pricey, in my opinion. There are several plans one could subscribe to, for instance, there is a one-month plan that offers rapid L2TP, OpenVPN connections and IPSec. With this you will also have unlimited traffic, great speed and access to all their servers, which is a great perk considering the very expensive plan. Other plans offered by this VPN service offer similar features, but they require you to be invested in a longer subscription. They also offer great discounts for the more extended subscriptions where you could possibly save a buck or two. If you use the system and find that you are completely unimpressed with the service, you have nothing to worry about because Chameleon VPN does provide you with a 10-day money-back guarantee. This means that you don’t have to be stuck with a service that you want nothing to do with, and that Chameleon VPN is confident about winning you over once you give it a try.

Chameleon VPN also offers a free test of its service upon registering, just to give you a chance to experience how its system operates and let you be the judge of whether or not this VPN could work for you after you purchase a plan. It is however a free trial version that has no time restrictions but does have a limited speed of 2mb/s, and only lets you have access to one of its servers. The fact that there is no time limit to its free version is shocking given that other VPNs give as little as 2 hours for you to test out their products. This exudes a lot of confidence in the services offered by this VPN.

Chameleon VPN Speed Test

Chameleon VPN does not have any speed restrictions for the paid plans. However, the free trial has a speed limit of up to 2Mb/s.

How is Customer Service at Chameleon VPN?

Customer service with Chameleon VPN is almost nonexistent. Its website says absolutely nothing about it, which makes me wonder how exactly users are supposed to survive here. Any competent VPN should be able to provide help for its users should they require it, but apparently not the Chameleon VPN.

Chameleon VPN currently has 21 servers in 19 different countries all over the globe, including;
Europe: Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine
America: Canada, Panama, USA
Asia: Malaysia

  • No logging
  • 21 servers in 19 countries
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • No speed limits
  • Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS, and Android

Is Chameleon VPN Safe?

The details of the encryption used on Chameleon VPN are very unclear and the Website’s FAQ section is literally nonexistent. Any tech-savvy individual will tell you just how frustrating this is because some of us like to look under the hood and figure out what exactly is going on with the security of the VPN.

Bottom Line

While we found nothing to smile about here, some users claim that this VPN is the one for them and have nothing but good things to say about it.
“Chameleon is currently the only protocol that consistently allows me to connect to the Internet from within China. It is essential the I’m able to access Web resources like YouTube and professional blogs outside of China’s restrictive network.”
“Chameleon allows me to have my 256bit encryption that I have VyprVPN for, but also gives me the fantastic speeds that my 320mb broadband gives me. This has improved my browsing tenfold.”
“Chameleon helped me access web resources I needed from my customer’s network environment, which otherwise would have been inaccessible until I left for the day. Chameleon saved time and made me more productive.”
While other VPNs out there are straining every possible nerve to be competent and provide the best VPN service in the world, Chameleon VPN seems to not have received that memo. Like I said before, any competent VPN should be able to provide information on security, privacy and transparency, but I have no idea what Chameleon VPN is going for here. Should all else fail, I at least expected the service to provide some customer support options, but that seems like a luxury users don’t pay enough to enjoy. Although it does offer some basic services, I will make it clear in no uncertain terms that if anyone wants a serious VPN, Chameleon VPN is not where it’s at. However, while we found nothing to smile about here, some users claim that this VPN is the one for them and have nothing but good things to say about it.
